From Agency Life to Independence

After a decade in advertising, I decided to leave the comfort of big teams and bigger clients to build something of my own. What followed was a mix of freedom, uncertainty, and a rediscovery of why I fell in love with creative work in the first place.

Agency life taught me almost everything I know about discipline, collaboration, and deadlines. But somewhere along the way, I started confusing busy with fulfilled. The long hours, the pitch decks, the constant race to “win” - it all started to feel mechanical. I was moving fast but not really moving forward.

Leaving wasn’t easy. I spent the first few months trying to replicate agency structure on my own, only to realize that independence works differently. You trade security for autonomy. Every project becomes a reflection of your own judgment.

Eventually, I stopped trying to rebuild the same system and started creating new rhythms. Now, I collaborate directly with founders, small teams, and creators who genuinely care about what they’re making. The conversations are more human, the decisions faster, and the results more personal.

Freedom comes with uncertainty, but that’s part of its magic. You don’t need a big office or a big team to do meaningful work. You just need the courage to bet on yourself - and the patience to keep showing up.
